When you’re on the run from the police, it seems like common sense that you would try to lay low and not create a high profile to avoid getting caught, right? However, Marc Feren Claude Biart, an alleged member of Italy’s ‘Ndrangheta crime syndicate, somehow couldn’t stay out of the public light which ultimately led to him getting arrested in the Dominican Republic.

The 53-year was wanted in connection with crimes such as trafficking cocaine in the Netherlands. Biart had actually managed to evade capture for seven years where he was on the run since 2014. He had initially led a quiet life in Boca Chica, but it seems that it was his YouTube videos that gave him away.

Biart had created a YouTube channel in which it featured him cooking Italian food. While he kept his face out of the videos, it seems that the tattoos on his arms were a giveaway which led to police identifying him. This wouldn’t be the first time that a criminal who is trying to evade capture getting caught for seemingly banal reasons.

Earlier this month, there was a case in the UK where a man who escaped prison but got caught after breaking lockdown rules because he wanted to buy a copy of Call of Duty.
