iOS 14 was released over seven months ago in 2020, and it seems that adoption of the latest major build of iOS is going pretty well because according to the data collected by Mixpanel, they have found that iOS 14’s adoption is over 90%. What this means is that over 90% of eligible iPhones and iPads have been updated to the latest version of iOS.

This shouldn’t really come as a surprise because back in February, Apple actually confirmed that iOS 14’s adoption rate was at 86%, so for it to add on another 4% or so in the following months is kind of to be expected. Apple’s iOS platform has never really had any issues with users upgrading quickly, although the differences in iOS versions is more about how quickly these updates are adopted.

Usually with any new software release, whether it be iOS, Windows, or Android, there are bound to be issues that could hamper the adoption. iOS 14 is no exception and one of the early bugs was actually pretty bad, but Apple seems to have gotten a handle of most of the issues since.

It was actually discovered back in September 2020 that iOS 14’s adoption was outpacing that of its predecessor, iOS 13.
