Amazon Brings Palm Scanning Payment System To Whole Foods
[ad_1]
As we stated back then, Amazon had the potential to make this system work and take off in a big way. This is because the company owned stores like Whole Foods where thousands of people shop daily, and this is exactly what they are doing. Amazon has recently announced that they will be bringing its Amazon One palm scanning contactless payment system over to Whole Foods.
According to Dilip Kumar, vice president, Physical Retail & Technology, “Today, I’m excited to share that customers at the Whole Foods Market store at Madison Broadway in Seattle will now be able to use Amazon One as a payment option at checkout. We also plan to add Amazon One as an option to seven additional Whole Foods Market stores in the Seattle area over the coming months.”
The availability will be a bit limited for now, but presumably as the technology becomes more embraced and with more people using it, the company will expand to cover more Whole Foods around the US.
