Amazon Expands Its In-Garage Grocery Delivery Service To More Than 5,000 Cities And Towns

One of the problems with online shopping is the last mile delivery. This is because unless you’re at home waiting for your package, more often than not it gets left on your porch which makes it ripe for thieves to steal. Amazon has been experimenting with various ways to help with that, such as delivering directly into your home or into the trunk of your car.
However, if those methods of delivery feel a bit too invasive for your liking, Amazon has announced that they will be expanding its Key In-Garage Grocery Delivery service to more than 5,000 US cities and towns. The program launched back in November 2020, but it was initially only available in five cities as a test run, but it seems that Amazon liked what they saw and will now be expanding on it.
According to Pete Gerstberger, Head of Key by Amazon, “Customers who tried Key In-Garage Grocery Delivery have loved the service, which is why we’re expanding it to everywhere Amazon offers grocery delivery.” Stephenie Landry, Vice President of Grocery at Amazon adds, “We’ve worked hard to bring the convenience of grocery delivery from Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market to even more Prime members, now reaching customers in more than 5,000 cities and towns.”
This service will only be available to Prime members. It will also require that those who want to take advantage of the service own a myQ connected smart garage door opener which will help Amazon make the delivery.
