Bang & Olufsen is a company renowned for exceptional audio product design and the hefty price tag it commands. Even the company’s Beoplay lineup, which are meant to be more affordable, tend to skew towards the higher-end of the range. That being said, the company is back with a new set of speakers – the Beolab 28.

As you can see in the photo above the Beolab 28 certainly does not look like your typical pair of speakers. It sports a column design and has woofers built into the base of the speakers, which can either be adjusted to be mounted on a wall, like in the photo above, or stand flat on the floor like tower speakers.

The speakers feature a built-in proximity sensor that will light up the controls whenever it detects someone is nearby. Speaking of controls, there will also be four preset buttons built into it that will launch Spotify playlists, radio stations, and more. Each speaker unit will feature three 3-inch drivers stacked vertically along with a 1-inch tweeter, and a 6.5-inch woofer at the bottom.

The speakers also feature various wireless connectivity options, such as AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, WiFi, and Bluetooth. There is also an Ethernet port, Powerlink, along with line-in/optical. The Beolab 28 will also be offered in a variety of finishes, such as Natural Silver, Black Anthracite, or Bronze Tone aluminum. There also also different covers ranging from knitted fabric to solid wood.

As expected of a set of Bang & Olufsen speakers, the Beolab will not come cheap and is priced starting at $14,750.
