Google Teases ‘Significant’ Announcements At I/O 2021
[ad_1]
Earlier this month, Google confirmed that I/O would be returning this year. Given that last year Google skipped out on the event, many are no doubt eager to see the event return, even if it is being held online. It looks like Google is equally eager because according to the company’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, he is promising “significant” announcements at the event.
Pichai also claims that the event will see the company announce product updates, something that many are no doubt looking forward to. While it is unclear what the company could announce, we have been hearing rumors that Google could launch the Pixel 5a 5G handset, continuing the company’s tradition of releasing “A” series phones that have been designed to be cheaper alternatives to their main Pixel phones.
Speaking of Pixel phones, apart from the Pixel 5a 5G, there’s a good chance that we won’t be seeing the Pixel 6 at I/O. Google usually schedules that for later in the year. We can most likely expect Google to share more updates on its progress with Android 12 and speak on the changes they’ll be making.
We can also probably look forward to Chrome OS related news, maybe new Chromebooks or Chrome OS devices. There have also been rumors that a new pair of Pixel Buds could also be in the works, so we might learn more about that then.
