Microsoft Confirms That Development On Windows 10X Is Dead
[ad_1]
Now it looks like the rumors were true because according to an announcement by Microsoft, Windows 10X is officially dead. “Following a year-long exploration and engaging in conversations with customers, we realized that the technology of Windows 10X could be useful in more ways and serve more customers than we originally imagined. We concluded that the 10X technology shouldn’t just be confined to a subset of customers.”
Instead, Microsoft says that they’ll be taking what they developed and learnt from Windows 10X and implement it into future Windows 10 updates. The company also says that they’ve already done some of this, “In fact, some of this is already reflected in the core of Windows in Windows Insider preview builds, for example the new app container technology we’re integrating into products like Microsoft Defender Application Guard, an enhanced Voice Typing experience, and a modernized touch keyboard with optimized key sizing, sounds, colors and animations.”
It is a pity that Windows 10X will never see the light of day, but maybe it was for the better. Windows 10 has already been very well-received and we’re sure that Microsoft probably doesn’t want to tarnish their record.
