If you’re a Chrome OS user, there might be some good news for you. This is because Google has recently announced that they will soon start to update its Chrome OS at least once every month, meaning that users can look forward to things like bug fixes, security patches, potential new features, and more on a monthly basis.

According to Google, “To deliver new features more rapidly to consumers while also continuing to prioritize the key pillars of Chrome OS – security, stability, speed and simplicity – Chrome OS will move to a 4-week stable channel starting with M96 in Q4. For enterprise and education users, Chrome OS will also introduce a new channel with a 6-month update cadence by M96. More details to be announced soon.”

This seems to be in line with how Google has approached its other updates like with Chrome which also has a monthly update cycle. Of course, not every update is expected to be a major or exciting update, but at the very least it shows Google’s commitment to its Chrome OS platform and could encourage adoption by those who might have previously been concerned about how often the operating system would be getting updates.

The next update to Chrome OS is currently slated for the 27th of July which will bump it to Chrome OS 92, followed by Chrome OS 93 in September, and so on.
