Slack Launches New Feature That Lets You Schedule Message
[ad_1]
This means that you could set a message to be scheduled at a specific time in the day and save it, and when that time comes around, that message will be sent. According to Slack, “When you have an important message to share in Slack but it’s not the best time to send it quite yet, you can schedule it. Select a date and time in the future and rest assured your message will be sent whether you’re at your desk or on the go.”
Given that Slack is mostly used as a communications tool for businesses and enterprise, we can foresee it being used to send out reminders to staff about meetings or upcoming events. It can be used to send out a reminder to your colleagues that you’ll be on leave today, and so on. According to Slack, these messages can be scheduled for up to 120 days in advance, but can be edited or deleted before they’re sent.
As more of us are working from home and face-to-face communication, like turning around in your chair to speak to a colleague, isn’t quite as easy anymore, these scheduled messages could be a useful way to keep in touch and synchronized even when you’re working remotely. The feature is rolling out as we speak so if you don’t see it yet, don’t worry.
