Given Huawei’s issues with the US government, the company is currently blocked from doing business with US companies and vice versa. This has affected their business relationship with companies such as Google, and in turn their use of Google’s Android operating system and Google services.

As such, Huawei has decided to launch their own Android alternative with HarmonyOS, which will not only work for smartphones, but for a variety of devices as well, such as the recently announced Huawei Watch 3 Series.

This is Huawei’s latest smartwatch and will be powered by HarmonyOS 2. This means that when used with other HarmonyOS devices, users can look forward to seamless integration and hand-off features. According to Huawei, “Functionality flows directly from your smartphone to your wrist, making all ride-hailing and flight information available at a glance. On the ride home from the airport, if you’re taking public transit, both your watch and your phone will remind you when you’re getting close to your final destination. You never have to worry about missing your stop again.”

The Huawei Watch 3 Series will come with more than 100 workout modes and will also come with features like a skin temperature sensor, fall detection, SOS functionality, and also boasts a battery life that’s good for 3 days in smart mode, and up to 14 days in ultra-long battery life mode. The watch is priced starting at $410 and is expected to be available on the 11th of June.
