A couple of years ago, the folks at EA and Respawn Entertainment announced their take on Fortnite in the form of Apex Legends. EA later revealed that they were looking into the possibility that the game could eventually find its way onto mobile devices, and nearly two years later, our wishes have come true.

EA has officially announced that a mobile version of Apex Legends is in development and that they will actually be kicking off a regional beta test for the game later this month. According to EA, “Apex Legends Mobile is specially designed for touchscreens, with streamlined controls and thoughtful optimizations that result in the most advanced battle royale combat available on a phone.”

Obviously the game won’t be 100% the same as the PC or console version of it, but for the most part and based on the screenshots, it looks more or less similar, maybe with some slight tweaks to make it better suited for mobile devices. Right now, the beta will be limited to those living in India and the Philippines and only on Android, but EA is hoping to expand to other regions soon and also make it available on iOS.

There is currently no word on when the game will be officially released, but hopefully EA will have more details in the coming months.
